BACKSNACKS
Thousands of children receive free and reduced-price school meals during the week at school, but many of those are at risk of food-insecurity on weekends. BackSnacks steps in to meet that need. Food packs with kid-friendly food such as cereal bars, oatmeal, soup, pasta and other non-perishable items that are easily prepared are sent home over the weekends during the school year. Rela-table provides the food items and community organizations deliver to three local schools that aren’t currently served through the Harvesters BackSnacks program. In addition, Rela-table supplements the food packs that are provided by Harvesters with additional food items and toiletries at six local schools.

SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM
Summer can be a time for fun in the sun and time with friends. But for some in our community, summer can be a time of uncertainty. Many families experience increased food insecurity during the summer months without access to school breakfast and lunch programs.
Rela-table has partnered with several local businesses and the Blue Springs School District to pack and deliver meals to these families within the community. Learn how you can be a part of this outreach program in 2021.

TABLES
A basic kitchen table, a place to nourish our bodies and souls, is often unaffordable for families. However, a table is where stories are told, lessons are taught, and families are strengthened. Rela-table makes tables to be shared with teens aging out of foster care and setting up their own first apartments, families moving into an apartment after experiencing homelessness, or families referred through the Jackson County Children’s Division.
